How we design and install your irrigation system
We follow the same approach on every project, from a single-zone install to a multi-acre commercial system. The depth of the process is the reason our systems run reliably for years after installation.
Step 1, site evaluation. An experienced sales staff member walks the property, measures water pressure at the source, notes grade and shade conditions, identifies water-source constraints, and asks about your goals. We don’t quote off photos or aerial views.
Step 2, custom CAD design. Your system is drawn in-house using actual measurements, not a generic template. We size pipe, space heads, and balance zones based on your specific property. Two yards next to each other rarely get the same design.
Step 3, utility location and permits. All underground utilities are located before any digging starts. If a permit or backflow inspection is required by your municipality, we handle the filing.
Step 4, installation. Crews flag zone heads in the yard for your approval before any trenching. We use machinery where it fits and hand-dig where it doesn’t, especially near established landscaping and mature root systems.
Step 5, calibration. Every zone is tested, head arcs and trajectories are dialed in, and the controller is programmed to a schedule that matches your turf type, soil, and St. Louis seasonality.
Step 6, walkthrough. A technician runs the entire system with you and explains controller operation before leaving the property.

Do I need to winterize my sprinkler system in Missouri?

Will installation damage my lawn?
Trenching disturbs the surface along zone runs, but we use narrow trenchers that minimize lawn impact, and disturbed strips typically recover within a few weeks of normal watering. In landscaped beds and around mature trees, crews hand-dig rather than trench to protect roots.
Do you install smart sprinkler controllers?
Yes. We install Hunter Hydrawise smart controllers as standard on new systems and as a retrofit on existing systems. Smart controllers adjust watering based on weather data and let you control the system from your phone.
Are you certified for backflow testing?
Yes. We have a minimum of 11 Missouri State and St. Louis County certified backflow inspectors on staff. Annual backflow testing is required in most St. Louis municipalities to remain compliant with the water utility, and we’re certified to test and submit results on your behalf.
